PRINCIPLES
SIMPLICITY
We optimize design through reduction. Simplicity is not about simplification, but about elevating quality by clarifying what truly matters. By removing the superfluous, we reveal the essence of space and create clarity of purpose.
私たちは引き算のデザインによって空間を最適化します。 シンプルとは単なる簡素化ではなく、本質を際立たせるために質を高める行為です。 不要な要素を取り除くことで、空間の本質と明確な意図を浮かび上がらせます。
MATERIALITY
Material selection is guided by intrinsic quality rather than cost. The most expensive material is not always the right solution. Whenever possible, we prioritize natural materials over chemical ones, valuing textures that age gracefully and develop character over time.
素材選びは価格ではなく本質的な質によって決まります。 高価な素材が必ずしも最適解とは限りません。 できる限りケミカルな素材ではなく自然素材を大切にし、時間とともに風合いや個性を深めていく素材を重視しています。
LIGHT
Light shapes the atmosphere of space. Rather than focusing only on daylight, we draw inspiration from the Japanese tradition of controlling light through layers. Natural light is carefully filtered and softened through elements such as washi, creating subtle gradations of brightness and shadow.
光は空間の雰囲気を形づくる重要な要素です。 単に自然光を取り入れるだけでなく、日本の伝統的な光の扱い方を大切にしています。 明るさや陰影、空間の奥行きを丁寧にコントロールする空間を設計しています。
SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability goes beyond the choice of materials. We consider the broader systems that shape the life of a space — human behavior, energy flows, and cycles of use. By designing with these relationships in mind, we create spaces that remain meaningful and responsible over time.
